I have just came back from Shanghai. What an amaizing city!!! It has everything and is so full of growing businesses. Shanghai is a s big as New York mabe bigger.
My training for my new job went well. I have just extended my visa for another 6 months. My new job starts soon and i will be moving into a new 1 bedroom apartment. No more messy roomates. I am happy to work for a better school and move on. Teaching children was not rewarding at all. I learnt a lota bout myself.
I have never met so many people that i dislike. Some chinese are fantastic, some are very two faced people.
Every conflict that i have had has been a result of cultural difference or misunderstanding. So it ends up not being nobody's fault. If you are impatient you can forget about coming to China. I have been absolutley frustrated of how they do things. Just one example of a 100, it took me 1.5 hours standing in line to deposit money into my account while people budge in line. This usually isn't that bad but it happned to me once.
Wenzhou investors are the most richest people in all of China. What they do wrong is they are not educated well but have too much money to spend. Shanghai people know they are like wolves when they do business sometimes. All that has went wrong has been not my fault. Every foreigner has had similar experiences. I have never encountered culture shock before. This is also my new challenge. It's the mentality of the way they do things that we wouldn't do.
The best of China is that everything is really cheap, and there are so many jobs for us. Just seeing a nice women pass on the street would make your bad day all that more cheerful. They are so kind and nice to talk to. They are so helpfula and go out of their way to encourage you. Forget about that China is a different country it is a different world. You can only know it from coming here. Forget about what you here on the news all the time. China is for sure the world's greatest opportunity and the biggest race that ever lived.
I am so glad that i have come here. There has been a lot of surprises good and bad. But things get better and better. I learnt a lot in Shanghai from a great teacher. Mabe i will move there in the future.
anyways, sometime i will post up two downtown shots of Shanghai and the nice women in my new office.
Keep it real!!
